New Board MembersMulti-disciplinary consulting engineering firm, Patrick Parsons, has strengthened its board of directors by appointing two new members.

Newcastle-headquartered Patrick Parsons – which also has offices in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Huddersfield, Chester, London, Dubai and Sydney – has invited Nick Beckwith and Conor Murphy to join its board of directors in recognition of their achievements and contributions to the business to date.

Both appointments are promotions from other positions within the company. Nick joined Patrick Parsons’ Newcastle office in 2009 as an associate director and is a highly experienced civil engineer.

Nick’s extensive experience in development – following eight years as development director for a leading house builder prior to joining Patrick Parsons – provides a unique specialism in multi-disciplinary engineering management. This includes early engineering feasibility services to ensure that developments are successfully delivered to meet the aspirations of the developer, from design concept through to construction completion. He has played a key role in strengthening the firm’s civil engineering team, bringing in a number of large developer clients as well as heading up multi-disciplinary projects.

Commenting on his appointment, Nick said: “I was delighted to be invited to join Patrick Parsons’ board of directors. The company is at a very exciting stage of growth, and I am looking forward to working with my fellow directors to develop the company further.”

Conor began working for London-based JSA Consulting Engineers – which was acquired by Patrick Parsons in November 2014 – in 1997, becoming a director in the practice in 2001. A highly experienced structural engineer, Conor’s portfolio includes work on numerous large residential developments in central London with project values of up to £130 million.

Conor said: “When I was invited on to the board I was quick to accept. Since becoming part of Patrick Parsons last year, we have already seen the benefits of the firm’s support so I’m thrilled to be joining the board. I look forward to bringing my directorial experience to my new role.”

As new board members, Nick and Conor will be responsible for spearheading business development and company growth alongside the existing directors.

Peter Stienlet, managing director of Patrick Parsons, said: “We are pleased to welcome Nick and Conor to the board, and I am personally looking forward to working with them even more closely. Their appointments are well-deserved and recognise their significant contribution to the company over recent years, and we are in no doubt that they will increase both the strength and depth of the board.”
