PD Ports prove they are tops on the Tees

PD Ports proved tops on the Tees as one of their two teams took the trophy at the annual Daisy Chain Boat Race.

They pipped Durham Tees Valley Community Rehabilitation Company and Clicksco to the post in a close-run contest.

The competition was fierce this year with teams from Mercedes Benz Of Teesside, Barclays Bank, Barclaycard, Clicksco, Watson Woodhouse solicitors, PD Ports, Ingleby Barwick Golf Academy, Durham Tees Valley Community Rehabilitation Company, the National Probation Service, CF Fertilisers UK and Daisy Chain all taking up oars to raise funds.

Racing took place at Tees Barrage International White Water Centre with teams of eight taking their places in the Bell boats for the fun competition which raises funds for Daisy Chain every year to support families affected by autism.

Katy Carmen, fundraising and communications manager at Daisy Chain, said: “Every year the event gets bigger with the teams growing ever more competitive while still being a fun event for all the family to come along and see the teams battle it out. It’s also an important fundraiser in the Daisy Chain calendar with each team raising a minimum of £400 to take part. It was fantastic to see so many companies taking part, without this kind of support we couldn’t offer our services to the 2,000 families registered with us. A big congratulations to our winners PD Ports.”

In addition to the prestigious trophy, the winning team also received a voucher for a white-water rafting experience.
