Work with successful writers and lecturers in creative writing Bob Beagrie and Andy Willoughby to develop ten-minute plays and short monologues based on research into Teesside’s history, locations and heritage.

Those taking part will see one of their final pieces showcased in the Crossing the Tees Book Festival in June with volunteer actors.

Last year’s budding wordsmiths took a course in crime writing, culminating in a performance of Murder in the Ref as part of the 2015 Crossing the Tees Festival.

This year’s course takes place in ten sessions, with most on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 8pm at Teesside University.

Sign up for the course at the first session on Thursday, April 21 from 5.30pm to 6pm at Teesside University, Room T103, The Curve Building, Southfield Road, Middlesbrough.

The full course fee is £80 and is open to those aged 18 and over. Places are limited to a maximum of 12 – for advance bookings/inquiries email andy_ekzuban@hotmail.com
