The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 12 May but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
A1 Junction 56 Barton to Junction 51 Leeming Bar
There will be phases of overnight lane closures and full carriageway closures while work takes place to upgrade the road to motorway standards. There will also be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed restriction 24 hours a day. Then on Monday 15 to Saturday 20 May there will be closures of Scotch Corner South Quadrant. On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May there will be a full closure southbound between Junction 56 and Scotch Corner .All these closures will take place between 8pm and 6am with diversions in place. There will also be a 24 hour lane closure on the A66 eastbound between Melsonby and Scotch Corner, taking place until the beginning of April. From 8pm on Friday 3 March
through to 6am Friday 20 May the Junction 56 northbound exit slip will be closed 24/7 with a diversion.
This project is due for completion by Winter 2017.
A19 Silverlink, North Tyneside
There will be phases of overnight slip road closures at Holystone Interchange with lane 1 closures north and southbound on the main carriageway from 8pm Monday 15 Maythrough to 6am Thursday 18 May. There will also be a 24 hour 30mph speed restriction with narrow lanes. This project is due for completion in March 2019.
A19 Tontine to Osmotherley
A contraflow will be in operation on the northbound carriageway between the A172 and the A684 for resurfacing work. The work will be carried out between 8pm and 6am fromMonday 15 May until Friday 26 May. There will be a 24 hour width restriction of 3.5 metres on the northbound carriageway for the duration of the work. A 24 hour 50mph speed restriction will also be in place on both the northbound and southbound carriageway.
A19/A66 Stockton Road interchange
The A66 eastbound and A66 eastbound to the A19 north and southbound slip roads will be closed on Monday 15 May. The A66 westbound, A19 southbound to the A66 westbound, A19 northbound to the A66 westbound and eastbound slip roads will be closed on Tuesday 16 May. The A19 southbound, A66 eastbound, A19 southbound to the A66 eastbound and westbound slip roads will be closed on Wednesday 17 May. All closures will take place between 9pm and 6am and are for the replacement of lighting columns. Clearly signed diversions will be in place.
A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside
There will be a full closure of the A160 Westbound from Habrough roundabout to Brocklesby Interchange together with the West exit from A180, the A180 Eastbound between eastbound exits and access slips for carriageway repairs, resurfacing and lining to Brocklesby Interchange and the A180. This closure will take place from 8pm on Friday 12 May until 6am Sunday 16 May. Clearly signed diversions will be in place.
