Local training and employment agency Profound Services has appointed Ian Murphy as IT Coordinator.
Ian, who is based at the firm’s headquarters in Peterlee, has a vast amount of experience in working in the further education sector delivering ICT Apprenticeships.
Since it set up 10 years ago Profound Services has rapidly expanded both in terms of employee numbers and the services it delivers. As part of the company’s larger strategic plan, which aims to offer a flexible curriculum that meets the needs of learners and businesses in the local community, Profound Services will soon be providing a range of IT Apprenticeships. Following the company’s decision to widen its offering, Ian Murphy has been appointed as IT Coordinator and will lead and develop the IT Apprenticeship department across Profound Services.
Prior to joining Profound Group, Ian spent the past four years as a Technical Trainer at some of the top recruitment and training organisations in the country. He has experience in delivering apprenticeships, curriculum development, program management and creating innovative classroom solutions.
Commenting on his new role, Ian said: “I’ve joined the company at an exciting time of expansion and development, and am looking forward to being part of the journey. My experience delivering technical ICT training will be highly valuable in the development of IT, Software, Web, Telecoms and Social Media Apprenticeships at Profound.”
In the next few weeks Ian is looking to connect with businesses that are interested in finding out more about IT Apprenticeships. Profound Services are working with the Skills Funding Agency who are actively promoting an under-utilised fund that has been allocated to the area. Local companies can access the fund to train existing staff or recruit new apprentices.
