Plymouth Raiders has announced their second signing of the summer in the shape of Dutch big man, Craig Osaikhwuwuomwan.
The 27-year-old power forward/centre has spent his first four professional seasons in the Dutch Eredivisie – Holland’s top flight – where last season he dominated the boards. He was the league’s top rebounder and will make his debut in the BBL for the new look Plymouth Raiders this coming season.
The 2016-17 campaign was a breakthrough season for Osaikhwuwoumwan since he averaged 10.4 points and 12 rebounds per game in 31 minutes per outing.
Standing at a mighty 6’11, he is the second player to sign for the all-new Raiders, after Louis Sayers who was signed last week, and the Dutchman promises to bring flair and excitement to the team.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to joining Plymouth Raiders and continuing what I’ve been doing, and that’s leading a league in rebounding.
“I will just do whatever is necessary to win and help the team. I’m excited for this new journey!”
Meanwhile Raiders’ Head Coach, Gavin Love said: “It’s great to welcome Craig to Plymouth, I know he is looking forward to the season.
“He is a player who will bring energy to the team and a great character to the club. I’m sure he will be entertaining player this year and will soon become a firm fan favourite.”
News of a further signing by Coach Love is expected later this week as the Plymouth Raiders continue to build a brand-new team to challenge in the BBL in 2017-18.
