London Festival Opera has performed for prime ministers, British ambassadors and members of the Royal family, including the Queen’s corgis!
In its latest performance, the company wowed the audience at Yarm School’s 750-seater Princess Alexandra Auditorium.
A Night at the Opera brought together established performers from the likes of the Royal Opera House, English National Opera and Glyndebourne.
The Recognition PR-sponsored event featured much-loved classics from works by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Handel, Rossini, Offenbach and Gilbert & Sullivan, which appealed to both opera newcomers and connoisseurs alike.
Yarm School Headmaster David Dunn said: “Singers with London Festival Opera have performed for royalty and world leaders. The company has performed in the world’s greatest opera houses, including La Fenice in Venice so we’re absolutely thrilled that we have been able to bring them to Yarm School.
“Music and drama are a huge part of life here at Yarm School. We have incredibly talented pupils who found the performance inspirational and it was great to welcome opera fans from the wider community and across the North East. We are committed to bringing quality performing arts to Teesside for the benefit of all”
Caroline Walker, partner at Recognition PR, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to help bring world-renowned opera to Yarm School. The Princess Alexandra Auditorium offers fantastic acoustics and provided the perfect setting for an unmissable evening.”
The school’s next event is The Ocean Film Festival on Saturday 3rd October which showcases the world’s most amazing ocean films above and below the water’s surface. Tickets, priced £13.50 for adults and £11 for concessions are available from www.thepaaonline.org and Strickland and Holt.
