Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

R&B Group raise funds for cause close to their Hearts

11A LEADING North East events production company is planning a special event to raise funds for a regional charity which has helped one of its directors.

The R & B Group, based in Newcastle, will be hosting a special fundraising event at the Clay Shed, Hoults Yard, Newcastle on Saturday, October 24 to raise money for the Northern Brainwave Appeal.

The charity raises money for the Regional Neurosciences Centre’s High Dependency Unit, at the RVI, which cares for patients who are severely ill due to heads injuries, including those who’ve suffered strokes and undergone neurosurgery.

R & B Managing Director, Antony Crerar, has been supported by the charity after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

And as a thank you for the support given by the Northern Brainwave group, his wife Pam is planning the special fund raising evening.

The event, which will take place between 7pm and 12am, will include live music, games, raffles, auctions, a range of street food and a bar.

Antony was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2014 and has since undergone four operations to remove it.

Following the devastating news that the tumour is now inoperable, the R & B Group aim to raise as much money as possible for the RVI Neurology department, which is where Antony has been receiving all his treatment and care.

The department are in turn supported by the Northern Brainwave Appeal, which raises funds to buy vital equipment.

“Throughout the time that Antony has been ill the care that he has received at the RVI has been second to none,” said Pam Crerar, Antony’s wife.

“I really can’t emphasise how important the Northern Brainwave Appeal is and we couldn’t be more grateful for everything that they’ve done for us.

“The fundraising event at Hoults Yard looks like it’s going to be a great night for everyone.

“There’ll not only be plenty of chances to donate but, a lot of fun activities and prize draws to get involved in.

“We really hope people will come along and support us in raising money for such a fantastic charity.”
