North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Screen Shot 2015-11-03 at 14.56.50A leading North East catering design and installation firm has recruited a new business development manager as it continues to build its national client base.

South Tyneside-based Restaurant Design Associates (RDA) has appointed Catherine Briely to its senior team, to develop client relationships and pinpoint new target markets.

Catherine has a wealth of experience in the catering industry, having held business development manager roles at Catering Design Group Ltd, Mellors Catering Services and Compass Group UK over the course of her career.

Catherine, originally from Manchester, has also worked as the events manager of Chester Zoo – and counts one of the highlights of her time there as generating the funding required for field based conservation work.

At RDA, Catherine will focus on leading the company’s expansion into markets such as education and casual dining venues, whilst continuing to develop its relationships with contract caterers. Her activities will range from managing initial concept meetings with clients, to organising RDA’s attendance at exhibitions and delivering presentations.

Catherine said: “I worked with RDA for a number of years during my time at Compass Group, so I am very fortunate to know MD Roy Addyman and his team. I have always been impressed with the unique designs and project management that RDA provided for me in the past, so when an opportunity arose to develop the business further, I was eager to join.

“RDA is well-known in the industry for maintaining a very strong existing client base based on repeat business. I’m looking forward to developing these relationships further and exploring new areas of the market for RDA to stamp its mark on.

“I was attracted to the role at RDA mainly because of its high level of in-house experience, and the variety of services it provides – including food concept support, conceptual sketching, presentation support, 3D photorealistic visuals and 3D walkthrough animations.

“RDA’s specialist visualisers and project team turn a concept into reality and deliver the ‘wow’ factor – and I was keen to work alongside this talented team.”

Catherine is taking the lead on a number of projects – including working with an independent school to expand its existing restaurant, and building a new restaurant in Canary Wharf.

Roy Addyman, managing director of RDA, said: “Catherine has an impressive career history within the catering industry and we’re delighted to welcome her as the newest member of our growing team. We’ve successfully completed more than 250 projects across the UK, and we’re confident that by developing our existing relationships and reaching out to untapped markets, we will maintain that momentum in the coming months.”
