north_tyneside_councilA partnership that looks after the health and wellbeing of North Tyneside residents meets later this week.

The Health and Wellbeing Board brings together North Tyneside Council, leaders of health and social care, patient representatives and the voluntary and community sector to agree goals and lead change.

Meeting together throughout the year, the first one of 2016 will take place on Thursday(January 7).

Cllr Lesley Spillard, who chairs the board as part of her duties as cabinet member for Public Health, said: “The partnership board is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of local residents. I look forward to being updated on some key health and social care issues at the meeting on Thursday.”

Members of the board will discuss a document, the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, which summarises the key health and wellbeing issues in North Tyneside.

They will also receive an update from NHS North Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group about the current public consultation on how urgent health care could be arranged differently across borough.

People living in North Tyneside are invited to observe the meeting, which takes place from 3pm, at the council’s HQ on Cobalt Business Park.
