Road resurfacing work at Peterlee

Motorists are being advised of road resurfacing work at Peterlee next week.

Durham County Council is to carry out work at a section of Edenhill Road on Thursday and Friday, November 2 and 3, between 7am and 7pm each day.

The work from the junctions with Surtees Road and Kirkstone Avenue will mean the section having to be closed although diversions will be in place and signs put up to inform motorists.

From the south of the closure, an easterly diversion route will take motorists along Surtees Road, Yoden Way, Chapel Hill Road, Ellison Road, and onto Edenhill Road north of the closure.

A westerly diversion will take drivers along Surtees Road, Essington Way, Yoden Road, Brandlings Way, and onto Edenhill Road north of the closure.

Brian Buckley, the council’s strategic highways manager, said: “This work is part of our programme to maintain our county’s many roads.

“We appreciate there will be some disruption to motorists and I’d like to thank them in advance for their patience and understanding while the work is done.”
