Children North East are delighted to announce Robertson Construction as the major sponsor of their annual Sandcastle Summer Party being held on Friday 10th July, at the Newcastle Marriott Hotel.
Robertson Construction has provided valued support to Children North East for over 10 years, with sponsorship of the Sandcastle Summer Party helping the charity and partnership grow.
The Sandcastle Summer Party links to the annual Sandcastle Challenge and is a fun way of remembering how the charity began. Founded in 1891, the Poor Children’s Holiday Association (PCHA) took inner city street children on ‘fresh air’ trips to the seaside in a bid to help tackle the poor health associated with living on the streets. The charity is now in its 20th year of running both a Sandcastle Challenge for local primary school children as well as the Sandcastle Summer Party.
Carol Taylor, Senior Fundraiser with Children North East, said: “This generous donation and support is very much appreciated and every penny raised from our Sandcastle Summer Party will be spent helping children in the north east.
Our services provide a real lifeline for many children facing issues within their lives which can damage confidence, undermine self esteem and ultimately prevent them from reaching their true potential. This support will help us continue to provide these services.”

Last year,over 4,000 children and young people used Children North East services, 44% more than the previous year. The organisation works to provide support for children and families who are living in poverty or whose lives are disadvantaged because of family misfortune.
