Rocks welcome Scottish international Reilly

Glasgow Rocks are proud to announce that Scottish guard, Lee Reilly, will be joining the squad after the unfortunate departure of Jordan Clarke earlier in the season.

Reilly joins the Rocks having played most of his career with the City of Edinburgh Kings, where he won every honour possible in the Scottish National League, played for every age group within the Scotland National teams and also made an appearance for the GB U20 team.

He will also be coming into the side with previous professional experience under his belt. During the 2013-14 season, Reilly played for Big Oettinger Rockets Gotha in Germany’s Pro A alongside fellow Scottish International Ali Fraser.

Head Coach, Sterling Davis is excited about his most recent acquisition and commented, “Lee is an option re-explored after an attempt a couple of years ago, to get him on board.

“His time spent in Germany proved a success and gave him a chance to show his skill set in a very competitive league.

“He is a very smart player that understands the game which was a big draw for me. A huge factor in our decision of bringing in Lee was previous ties he already had with quite a few of the players through basketball.

“We want to make sure we continue moving in the right direction on court but it starts with the calibre of guys we have in our group.”

Reilly is looking forward to starting the next chapter in his career and added, “I’m delighted to be here with the Glasgow Rocks and am excited to try and help the team continue on their great start to the season.”

The Rocks are in the midst of their best start to a season in franchise history after registering 12 straight wins across all competitions earlier in the season and having already booked their ticket to the 2017 BBL Cup Final which will be played on the 15 January at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham.
