Roses and songs from primary pupils at care home

SCHOOL pupils have performed songs and handed out roses to Teesside care home residents.

Children from St Bede’s Catholic Academy were visiting residents at The Beeches Care Home, both on Green Lane, Stockton-on-Tees, following Holy Communion.

The pupils, all seven to nine years of age, were wearing special outfits for the celebration, which they then wore to the care home to hand roses to each resident.

They performed on both floors during their visit, singing to residents on both the residential and dementia care units.

Resident Jean Brown said: “The children were absolutely gorgeous. I loved them. It had made my morning.”

Fellow resident Cicely Hartley added: “My flower smelt amazing. How lovely the children were this morning.”

Jess Brown, The Beeches Care Home manager, said: “When they came in they started by giving out the roses. The residents faces lit up.

“It was so nice to see all the residents enjoying the children’s performance and seeing the children dressed so smartly. It was a really lovely morning.”
