Royals add Dusha as second signing

London City Royals have announced Elvisi Dusha as their second signing as they continue to build their roster ahead of the upcoming season.

The 24-year-old guard put up a career-high 6.7 assists per game at Worcester Wolves last season before a short spell with Cheshire Phoenix.

The Albanian international started his BBL career with Surrey United in 2013 and has played in 136 BBL Championship games since with over 500 assists to his name.

“I’m excited to be a Royal, really excited to get started,” said Dusha.

“I want to make a big impact and I’ve got a lot to prove. Everything is earned. I’ve been in this league now for six years, so I bring a lot of experience, regardless of how old I am.

“I’m going to play as hard as I can, play defence, do the nitty-gritty stuff to help us come away with a win.”

Head coach Junior Williams added: “Elvisi is a young player who we’ve seen through the years with Midnight Madness and we’ve seen him grow.

“He had a fantastic year last year, played for two clubs last year and still averaged 7 assists per game.

“He’s an unselfish point guard who likes to share the ball. He’s a student of the game so he’s always asking questions, ‘coach, how can I get better, what is it that this team needs to be successful?’

“It’s always important to have young, hungry, talented players like Elvisi on your team.”
