Since winning contracts with house hold names such as Homebase and Argos, Returnable Packaging Services (RPS) is enjoying a turnover of £2.34m, almost 30% increase since last year.
This soaring growth has enabled the business to launch a recruitment drive and 21 year old Liam Johnson is the seventh employee the forward-thinking business has employed this year, bringing its total team number to 22.
After successfully completing a one year apprentice with RPS, Liam, from Eaglescliffe, has secured a fulltime position as a fork lift driver.
Jez Norton, RPS’ site manager, said: “I’m thrilled to call Liam an official RPS employee during this crucial time for us. I’ve been working closely with Liam for 12 months now, so this is a very proud moment for me.
“Liam has matured during this process and become a conscientious part of the team. We will continue to provide training for him and help him to achieve his goals of a higher NVQ level.”
Working in conjunction with Stockton Riverside College, RPS has helped Liam achieve his NVQ Level 2 in warehousing and distribution.
Liam said: “RPS is a great place to work, I’ve had a wonderful time. I’m so pleased to be a full time employee, especially now during this exciting period!”
Currently engaging with WHSmith, Amazon and Halfords, RPS has plans to expand further and hopes to take on another apprentice in the future.
Speaking about the continued success of the business, Thomas Hudson, marketing manager at RPS, said: “We have grown significantly and developed the company over the last 12 months. Liam completing his apprenticeship is a good example of this.”
