MULTI-award winning comedian Russell Kane will kick-off Stockton’s newest music and comedy festival next month – and tickets are on sale now.

The TV star will open the new Stockton Stages festival by presenting an evening of comedy at ARC on Thursday, July 20 as part of his Russell Kane and Friends tour.

Having appeared on BBC’s Live at the Apollo and Stupid Man, Smart Phone shows, Kane’s appearance represents something of a coup for the new three day event.

Tickets are available now and are expected to go quickly, with an array of other free and ticketed events taking place as part of the Stockton Stages line-up.

Hot on the heels of the opening night, Essex quintet Eliza and the Bear, Scalesia, and Cellar Door, will rock the Georgian Theatre from 7pm on Friday, July 21.

Also from 7pm on the same night, nearby Ku Bar will welcome The Sherlocks, fresh from their sold out UK tour last year, alongside Catalyse, and Oddity Road.

These are both ticketed events, with tickets, priced £12, allowing access to both venues.

But there’s a host of free entertainment too – Saturday, July 22 will see Patrick Monahan, Jay Foreman and others perform family comedy in Stockton High Street.

And there’s free live music in the Green Dragon Yard, Bishop Street Car Park and The Storytellers with the likes of the Phat Tyrtles, Funk Collective, Weekend Sun, and Hip Hop Hooray all on the bill.

Other activities include a Record Market, silent discos, mass karaoke and a peculiar town centre walk.

Tickets for Russell Kane’s show are also available from ARC Box Office.
