Don McLean

Wednesday 2 May 2018, 7.30pm, Sage One

Don McLean is a talented singer-songwriter who began in folk music, performing free on behalf of Pete Seeger’s efforts to clean up the Hudson River.

His second album, American Pie, included the irresistibly catchy title track, said to have been inspired by the death of Buddy Holly, but also a sentimental song about America that could be embraced by everybody as the USA reeled from Vietnam and Watergate. The track Vincent, which reached number 1 in the UK, was being played daily in the entrance to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.

With more than 40 years of hits to draw from, Don McLean will be touring the UK and Ireland throughout 2018, to promote his latest album, Botanical Gardens.

Marti Pellow ‘Private Collection’ plus support

Saturday 2 June 2018, 7.30pm, Sage One

Marti Pellow will be touring the UK in 2018 with The Private Collection Tour to celebrate 30 years in the industry, including hit singles from his many albums as both a solo artist and with Wet Wet Wet.

Wet Wet Wet’s cover of Love Is All Around stayed at the top of the charts for 15 weeks, giving him the longest stay at number one for a British artist, a great accolade to have along with dozens of gold and platinum selling records from all over the world.

Marti Pellow is not a singer songwriter that is about yesterday or today, he strives to be about tomorrow and that is why he has longevity in his career and continues to push himself. Be it on a Broadway stage, writing a new musical, making new records, starring in the West End or touring, all of this ties together for him, and it’s all about the music.

After the success of his last Tour – Marti put together the new concert idea of The Private Collection show. He showcased it to sold-out evenings at The Stables in Wavendon and such was their success Marti decided to turn this show into a UK wide tour in 2018.
