SANTA has arrived at Parkway Shopping Centre and he is ready to welcome children and families for a free visit this Christmas.

Based outside Home Bargains, at the Coulby Newham-based shopping centre, the grotto is part of a stronger community focus for the centre. Santa returns following a five year absence and after listening to tenants and customer views, centre bosses committed to bringing Santa to Coulby Newham.

Landlords Ellandi purchased the centre in 2015 and have undertaken significant changes including the appointment of new Centre Manager Zoe France.  The centre has seen an investment in a new roof and increased support of local community projects.

Ellandi are also supporting the mall traders by providing bespoke units, all part of a longer term vision for Parkway which will see improvements to the centre’s look and to enhance the shopping experience for visitors.

Centre Manager, Zoe France, said: “Here at the Parkway we recognise people’s perception of what the centre is may not be a true reflection of what we are, and as part of our long term aim, we are investing now with shopper events, a Christmas market and engaging more with our tenants.

“Times have changed and we want to truly share that message.  Customers tell me they want to shop here but we can’t always accommodate their needs, we want to deliver that with Christmas this year. Christmas is about family and loved ones and at Parkway we want to recreate a nostalgic feeling once again within the centre for our shoppers and tenants.

“We have a great offering for our customers with free parking, new retailers including Pep & Co and WH Smith, the centre is going from strength to strength and we have everything you need under one roof.

“We are a popular shopping destination located in the heart of the community, for shoppers visiting us over the festive season they can expect a warm welcome from our Santa and staff and we hope to see many smiling faces in and around the centre,” adds Zoe.

The Ellandi vision is to have Parkway Shopping Centre at the heart of the community, to invest and see it thrive, and to make a difference locally. Plans are in place to develop parts of the centre, support independent retailers and widen the retailer offering for customers.

A regular shopper to the Parkway Centre, Mum Sue said: “Summer is only 3 years old and this was her very first visit to see Santa, and he was just lovely and wonderful with her.  It’s a real treat and pleasure to see Santa back at the Parkway, he’s been gone far too long.”

Santa will be at the centre until 23rd Dec.
