Santa’s Post Box, three special markets and a Slime Lab event are the highlights for Christmas 2018 at Middlesbrough’s Dundas Shopping Centre and Indoor Market.

Little ones can post their letter to Father Christmas in a special interactive Santa’s Post Box and  watch their letter be whisked off to Santa’s home of Lapland.  Santa’s Post Box is on the main shopping mall from 19 November, in good time for the switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights on 22 November and the Magical Middlesbrough Parade on Sunday 2 December.

There are Christmas Food and Craft Markets running from 23 to 25 November and from 21 to 23 December and a Handmade and Vintage Market on 10 and 11 December, when more than 20 independent traders will join the market traders to offer a range of unique and different Christmas presents.

The Express Christmas Slime Lab makes an appearance in the shopping centre on Sunday 2 December from 10.30am to 3.30pm, offering hourly slots for kids from four years upwards to mess around making festive slime.  Further information and advance tickets for each session can be booked on Facebook @MessAroundTeesside.

Carol Singers from Step Forward Tees Valley, which helps local people improve their confidence to find a job or training course, will be singing in the shopping centre on Thursday 6 December from 11am to 1pm, while Ageing Better Middlesbrough meets in Jean’s Kitchen, the café at the heart of the market, for their Christmas social at 10am on Wednesday 19 December.

In line with retailers in the shopping centre, the indoor market will be open on Sundays from 25 November up to and including 23 December, and there is free car parking after 3pm on weekdays for the whole of December in the 178-space Dundas Shopping Centre basement car park, accessed off Wilson Street.

“Why not post a letter to Santa on your way to the Christmas lights switch-on or the magical parade?” says Dundas Market Centre Manager David Harris.

“With Santa’s Post Box, our special markets and events, and a whole range of value-for-money, presents available from our retailers, large and small, this is shaping up to be our best Christmas ever.”

Dundas Shopping Centre is the home to national brands B&M, Fulton Foods and Cooplands, and well-known local independents like The Festival Shop, Tik Tok, Homefair Blinds, Buckshees Military Surplus, LD Printing and Miss Unique.  Dundas Market is Middlesbrough’s only indoor market with thirty independent traders offering a range of value-for-money goods and services.

Further information on all the Christmas events is available from www.dundasshoppingcentre.co.uk or via @DundasShopping on Facebook and Twitter.
