Beck spoke of his excitement to be making his way to Surrey: “The BBL is a great league and I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Scorchers and the support provided by their fan base.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the coaching staff, my team-mates and the fans when I arrive. I can’t wait to start training with the team and getting the season underway.
“I had a lot of options for the upcoming season, but after researching the team, the community and the league, I felt like the Scorchers are the perfect fit for me for the upcoming season.
“There is a real family feel to Scorchers and that is very important to me.”
Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos added: “I believe Demario will be our energy guy. He’s an athletic forward that can defend multiple positions.
“I know he’s a hungry rookie real excited about starting his professional career with a winning season.”
