PARENTS and carers across Stockton-on-Tees are reminded to submit applications for their child’s secondary school place by the end of October.

If your child was born between 1 September 2006 and 31 August 2007 your child is due to start secondary school in September 2018.

Applications will close on Tuesday 31 October and any submissions made after this date will not be processed until places have been allocated to those who applied in time.

Councillor Ann McCoy, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “Parents and carers can help us and their children by making sure they enter their application on time for the September 2018 intake and make full use of the opportunity to apply for a place at up to three schools.

“There’s a chance that your child will miss out on a place at one of your preferred school choices if you submit your application after the deadline so I urge all parents and carers to apply before Tuesday, 31 October.”

The easiest way to submit an application is via the online form which is available at www.stockton.gov.uk/schooladmissions

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council receives over 2,200 applications per year for secondary school places so parents and carers are being advised to submit their application as soon as they can.

Those who apply online and opt to receive an email informing them which school has allocated a place to their child will receive this on Thursday 1 March 2018. Letters will be posted out to notify all other parents and carers of the outcome of their application.
