Royal Life Saving Society UK celebrate lifesaving work of Settle Area Swimming Pool
With over 40 years of lifesaving swimming lessons and water-based activities under their belts and a bright future ahead of them, Settle Area Swimming Pool has been awarded the ‘Friends of the Society’ certificate by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK).
The ‘Friends of the Society’ certificate recognises and awards those organisations and supporters who champion the core aims and ambitions of RLSS UK, but who aren’t existing members or associated bodies.
The UK’s Drowning Prevention Charity believes that the first defence against drowning is learning to swim and Settle Area Swimming Pool, based at the heart of their community, is an unparalleled resource for building confidence in the water, through their varied timetable of activities.
Presenting the certificate was RLSS UK Trustee Emma Davids:
“It’s a real honour to have been able to attend the presentation and the certificate is well-deserved,” said Emma.
“The work that goes into making the pool a resource that all community can benefit from is exemplary. I really hope they’ll be able to continue their fantastic work, well into the future.”
Settle Area Swimming Pool Committee Chairperson, Patricia Taylor added:
“We’re delighted to be awarded the ‘Friends of the Society’ certificate! It’s real testament to the passion and dedication of everyone involved in the running and maintenance of the pool.
“I think the certificate cements a stronger relationship with RLSS UK as we share values, aspirations and a determination to see more people, of any age and ability, enjoy the water safely.”
