North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Show Your Mussel 2019 firmly supports two leading North East autism charities

Show Your Mussel, the popular networking event organised by The Mussel Club and Jak HQ, is running for its seventh year in a row this June. The exhibition provides an opportunity for businesses and charities from across the region to share industry knowledge and expertise.

Attendees can expect huge networking opportunities when they travel to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on the 13th of June, with more than 100 businesses set to exhibit, and 500+ like-minded, professional visitors.

Joining the North East Autism Society, Grace House is the second charity dedicated to autism and complex disabilities who will benefit from free support at the annual networking occasion. Both charities, having worked with the creative team at Jak HQ for some time, have been provided with free exhibition stands at the event in order to aid their incredible, life-changing causes.

They will stand alongside over a hundred other businesses who have secured their place to display at the Show Your Mussel event. It will be the ultimate opportunity to promote their services, make worthwhile connections for life, and increase their brand awareness.

Supporting children and young people aged 5 – 17 from across the region, Sunderland’s Grace House offer short breaks and a range of support services to all visitors and their families.

Delighted with the work of Jak HQ for organising the event and supporting the charity, Laura Forbes (Corporate Fundraiser for Grace House North East), said: “Thank you to the team at the Mussel Club for their continued support of Grace House; all funds raised at this event will go towards supporting children with complex disabilities and their families.”

Jak HQ is also heavily associated with the North East Autism Society, and recently featured the wonderful charity’s ‘Going for Gold campaign’ on the front cover of their monthly publication, In & Around Magazine.

The incredible team, based in Chester-le-Street, strive to develop a service that is specifically tailored to enable their learners to enjoy success, grow with confidence, and live their life to the fullest. The North East Autism Society has over 35 years’ experience when it comes to working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, and their families.

Having also recently launched the country’s first Autism and Neurodiversity Academy, which educates businesses in how to make their services autism and neurodiversity friendly, the charity is delighted to be showcasing at this year’s Show Your Mussel event.

North East Autism Society’s CEO, John Phillipson, said: “Show Your Mussel excitingly gives us a platform in which we can partner with the North East’s dynamic business community, campaigning together in ‘Going for Gold’ – leading the way as an exemplar to the rest of the UK in celebrating and accepting neurodiversity in all its forms.”

You can pop along on June 13th to support both charities, and network with hundreds of businesspeople. Tickets to attend the Show Your Mussel 2019 event are free and available from www.symexpo.co.uk
