Simon Bailes supports Northallerton 10k for third year running

Simon Bailes Peugeot has reinforced its ongoing commitment to supporting local charities and good causes with a hat-trick of sponsorships of the Northallerton 10k.

Simon Bailes has been the main sponsor for the race since it started in 2016. The 2018 event takes place on Sunday 27th May 2018, with all entrance fees and monies raised go to Pendragon Community Trust.

The Pendragon Centre is located in Northallerton and provides support which makes a real difference to the lives of those with physical, mental and emotional difficulties and their families and carers.

The specialist centre provides a wonderful range of sensory experiences as well as therapeutic and developmental opportunities. The centre supports and welcomes visitors of all ages. It also provides a haven for those clients and their families and carers who are seeking respite and relaxation and an opportunity to meet as it also have a friendly café onsite.

David Kerfoot, Chairman and Trustee of the Pendragon Community Trust said: “Pendragon is making amazing progress as a new community facility, which is being utilised by clients from across the region. It really is a very special place and we are constantly impressed by feedback from users about our unique Sensory Centre. The Northallerton 10k Run not only gives a huge boost to our funding effort but also provides a great deal of fun for many people.”

The number of entrants for last year’s race exceeded expectations, as close to 2,000 people gathered on the start/finish line on Northallerton High Street. This year’s race has already attracted more 800entrants with tickets still available.

Race organiser Thomas Kerfoot said: “The Northallerton 10k is now into its third year, and each year we have outsold our previous years quota but also the reaction from returning runners has been positive, it only fills us with confidence this wonderful community event is here to stay.

“The ongoing support from local businesses like Simon Bailes Peugeot, alongside the Council and the Northallerton community never ceases to amaze us. It’s encouraging to see so many people want to be involved and we are thrilled to have achieved our target year on year. The atmosphere on the day is always very special and positive with runners supporting each other, and great crowds cheering on participants.”

Simon Bailes said: “The Pendragon Centre is a special, unique facility, which makes such a positive experience to the local people who are living with difficulties in their lives as well as their families and carers.

“This year will be the third year we are supporting the Northallerton 10k, as well as raising money for this worthwhile local organisation. The race brings the Northallerton community and the wider area together with people of all ages and abilities getting involved, whether it’s running themselves, helping behind the scenes or supporting participants.”
