JenningsOne of the region’s leading motor groups has opened the North East’s only Harley-Davidson dealership, with support from law firm Sintons.

Jennings Motor Group has opened its latest dealership in Gateshead, investing significantly to purchase a disused car showroom and transform it into a state-of- the-art site selling iconic Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The new 2,500sq m site, on Eslington Park, has created 12 new jobs and is the sister site to Jennings’ existing Harley-Davidson dealership in Leeds.

Family-run Jennings, which has been selling cars in the North East for 104 years, already employs over 480 people at its dealerships across Tyneside, Wearside, South Tyneside and Teesside.

Sohail Khan, director of Jennings Motor Group, said: “We are immensely proud of our history in the North East and we wanted to showcase this in the interior of the new showroom. Our architects and construction team have done an exceptional job in meeting the brief, both internally and externally.

“We are absolutely delighted to bring the prestigious and globally-recognised Harley Davidson brand to the North East region and look forward to replicating the success of our existing Leeds Harley-Davidson dealership here in Gateshead.”

Newcastle law firm Sintons is legal advisor to Jennings Motor Group. Commercial Partner Christopher Welch handles all commercial matters, and Real Estate Partner Alok Loomba oversees property. The team assisted with all legal aspects of the development of the new Harley-Davidson site.

Alok Loomba said: “Harley-Davidson is a hugely prestigious and iconic name in the motor industry and it’s a very welcome addition to the North East.

“Jennings Motor Group has a long and proud history in this region and they have invested heavily to create a truly stunning site which befits the Harley-Davidson brand. It’s been a pleasure to assist with this project, the latest of many ambitious schemes Jennings has undertaken to bring new jobs and investment to their native North East.”
