Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Smashing Start to Junior British League

Having qualified for the event in July, Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club Boys team had a great start to the season, finishing the first weekend top of the table.

The Junior British League sees the best clubs from all over the UK come together to compete across 8 Boys divisions and 4 Girls divisions, with over 300 talented table tennis players taking part at Derby Arena.

Bishop Auckland Girls team – having won promotion to Division two last year – saw a change of personnel. The team saw 12-year- old Anya Milne and 13-year- old Amy Mold debut alongside 15-year- old Gracie Edwards. The young team, possible the youngest team in the hall, found the going tough but put in some great performances and real promise for the future, but unfortunately lost all their matches, going down 5-1 to Halton, Ashford, Ulster and Fusion and a narrow 4-2 defeat to Swerve to see them bottom of the table with some work to do in next time.

The boys team of Sam Hume, Lee Tinkler, Max Duffin and Harvey McDonald gained three, 3-3 draws with against Urban TTC, Harrogate and St Neots, and two 4-2 wins over Table Tennis Daily and Greenhouse. The boys were the only unbeaten side in the division. This undefeated status sees the boys sit 1-point clear at the half way stage.
