Smile For Life Children’s Charity hosts Reindeer Fun Run

CaptureA FESTIVE family fun run is being organised to raise cash for a North East children’s charity.

Smile For Life Children’s Charity is inviting people of all ages and abilities to take part in the Reindeer Run, a 1k obstacle course that participants can run either once or twice.

The fundraiser at St Nicholas Playing Field, Gosforth, will also include face painting, a Santa’s Grotto, food and drink stalls and a festive raffle.

Paula Gascoigne, Chief Executive of Smile For Life, said: “We are so excited to be holding our first ever charity run and what better time to do it than at Christmas? Christmas is all about families and so is Smile For Life.

“This festive event will offer a great day out for all of the family and raise money for children who are less fortunate and ensure that they can enjoy a happy Christmas too.”

Speaking about the day itself she added: “There will be a range of entertainment and activities, not only with the obstacle run, but also Christmas crafts, face painting, hot food and drinks, as well as chance to meet big man himself – Santa!

“Many of the young people that we support will be helping out on the day and we hope it will be a great success. Everyone is welcome, whatever their ability and we hope that this will be the start of a fantastic annual event.”

Entry for the fun run on Sunday December 13th is £10 and includes a Christmas goodie bag and a pair of antlers. Parents and careers of those taking part can run for free.

The runners will be staggered into optional time slots from 11am – 2.30pm.
