Sol Rolls-Tyson makes Cheshire Phoenix switch

Sol Rolls-Tyson is heading to Cheshire Phoenix next season after signing from rivals DBL Sharks Sheffield.

The Birmingham-native has also played in Norway after leaving the University of Dakota in 2017 and was a late addition to the Sharks last season.

“I am excited with the opportunity to play for the Cheshire Phoenix,” he said. “I am determined to surpass my own potential as well as contributing to the further success of the team.

“I am extremely excited at the prospect of working with Coach Ben as well as meeting and collaborating with the players.

“I am hoping that my skills, determination and drive will make for an exciting season, one the fans and community will be proud of.”

Coach Thomas added: “I’m really happy that we have managed to sign Sol for next season. He’s a young guy with a lot to prove in this league.

“I was able to see what he can do on the floor first hand and how he stepped up during the Commonwealth game period last season.

“We will be looking for him to have a bigger role here than he did at the Sharks and I know he’s ready to take on that challenge.”

Rolls-Tyson joins Ashton Khan, Louis Sayers, Momcilo Latinovic and Jordan Session on the Phoenix roster for 2018-19.
