Alex Ozobia has been named the manager of Nine Bar in Dean Road, South Shields. He said: “Overall I am really looking forward to the future and taking Nine Bar to the next level in terms of what drinks we have to offer, the entertainment and service.
Mr Ozobia now hopes to build on the success of the bar, formerly the Woodside Bar, which was opened following a five figure investment from the owners in December 2013. The bar was given a complete overhaul and transformed into an up market bar and lounge, offering the finest continental lagers, spirits and wines, and has since developed an impressive cocktail, prosecco and champagne list.
Alex, who is 27 and from South Shields, has nine years of experience in the hospitality industry. He said: “This opportunity was fantastic for me as there is so much scope to be creative and provide people in South Shields with the best possible drinks menu and service from our dedicated staff.
“We have redesigned the cocktail menu and added so many fun and creative drinks that people will love. We are hosting a launch night on the 4th of August complete with a champagne and canape reception, live music and free tasters, which we are all very excited about.
“I have also looked at the events and we are looking to provide a range of fantastic opportunities for people to enjoy the best entertainment and relax in our cosy and comfortable setting and enjoy a few great quality drinks with friends and family.”
A launch night of a range of new cocktails which will now be on offer at Nine bar, will take place on Thursday August 4 from 5pm.
People are invited to try free samples of new cocktails as well as enjoy an evening of live music with singer Dean Palmer.
Alex continued: “The new offerings have already attracted new faces and our clientele is expanding, we are getting busier and busier every weekend which is fantastic to see.
“This was a fantastic opportunity for me as running a bar and a business was something I have always wanted to do. I have hit the ground running and am excited about what more I can bring to the company. I have big ambitions and want to make Nine better than ever.
Nine Bar is open every day of the week from 5pm until late with the function room available for hire. Selected cocktails are now offer for 2 for £9 every day from 5-7pm with an additional ‘happy hour’ from 9-11pm on a Friday and Saturday.
