Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

SpeakEasy Live Launches on #TimeToTalk Day

On #TimeToTalk day, its fitting that Men Tell Health, the national award-winning men’s mental health organisation, launch their ‘SpeakEasy Live’ feature; an online, anonymous support service that can be accessed via their website from any internet connected computer, smartphone or tablet.

A team of trained, dedicated support staff will be on hand to speak openly, honestly and anonymously with any adult who wants support, help or an element of social prescribing to other services which may be able to help them.

Men Tell Health host a number of men-only support groups, called The SpeakEasyTM, across Teesside and into North-East Lincolnshire. This new exciting feature opens up access to help, support and sign-posting to anyone aged 18+, anywhere in the world.

Gary Pollard, Chief Executive of Men Tell Health said “This new service is an incredibly exciting time for us. It’s the next evolutionary step for our organisation. We are all absolutely delighted to bring a much-needed new service to the masses and allows us to help so many more people. In the 11 months since our physical SpeakEasyTM groups have been running, we’ve had over 100 men through the door and we’re hoping to increase this number enormously by utilising modern technology.”

Dan Briggs, Director of Services for Men Tell Health said “I’m so happy that this project tested well, it works seamlessly and is able to help people all over the world who may need a little extra support. I’m proud to say it’s my first project since starting at Men Tell Health, but by no means the last. We have so many more projects coming along in 2018 and beyond.”

Whilst Men Tell Health are a male-focussed organisation, this service is open to anyone over the age of 18. Men’s mental health isn’t just about men, it includes about their partners, sisters, aunts, mothers and daughters, all of which play a huge part in the health and wellbeing of the men in their lives.

The ‘SpeakEasy Live’ feature will be available, at least initially, every Thursday from 20:00 until 22:00 GMT. It is hoped this service can be expanded over time.
