Thirsk and Sowerby Leisure Centre is undergoing some essential improvements over the next month.
Funds have been made available through the district council’s capital programme to improve the pool hall and changing village. This will include replacing pool surround tiles, refreshing the seating and improving the poolside lighting. In the changing rooms work will also take place to improve the lighting and drainage and the re-grouting of the floor and shower walls.
To allow the works to take place, it is necessary to close the swimming pool, sauna and swimming pool changing rooms from today – Wednesday 24 February – all other facilities will remain open as normal, including the gym, studio and dry side changing areas.
All facilities will be available again from Monday 21 March.
Hambleton District Council’s three other leisure centres in Northallerton, Bedale and Stokesley are all open as normal
