RUNNERS are limbering up for one of the highlights of the regional athletics calendar – the 2016 Tees Pride 10k Road Race.
The race – sponsored by housebuilder Taylor Wimpey – and the ever-popular SABIC 3k Fun Run Take place on Sunday, September 4, and entries are now open.
The countdown is under way, but there’s still plenty of time to get in shape for an event that’s proved a huge hit with runners, joggers, walkers and charity fundraisers for over a decade.
Local and national charities already lined up to take part include Zoe’s Place, Bloodwise, Macmillan Cancer Support and the South Tees Hospitals Charity.
Now in its twelfth year, the Tees Pride 10k Road Race and the SABIC 3k Fun Run event has developed into one of the major sporting occasions in the region.
Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director at headline sponsor Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said: “This is our third year sponsoring the Tees Pride 10k, and we are thrilled to be launching this year’s event from our Acklam Hall development.
“This race is a real highlight in our calendar and a few of our own team members are taking part once again.”
