Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Status Digital grows talented tech team with eight new hires

A Newcastle based digital agency has strengthened its team of business transformation and customer experience experts, with eight new hires across the business, following a period of accelerated growth.

The new employees add to the existing team of digital innovation experts at Status Digital, based at Maling Exchange, Hoults Yard. The firm, established in 2011, helps ambitious businesses to better understand their customers, so they can design innovative services and digital products that deliver transformative and lasting business improvements.

As well as forming partnerships with new customers, the company is increasingly working in international markets through its work with the world’s leading group of international schools, Nord Anglia Education.

Status Digital now employs 19 talented individuals, including strategists, developers, creatives, service and user experience designers and marketers. The company has plans to recruit four more team members by March 2020, as well as developing its service offering, with plans for a full rebrand early next year.

Programme Director, Kathryn Blight and Business Manager, Roxanne Tuck join the Senior Management Team and bring with them a wealth of experience.

Kathryn, from North Shields, joins following a career managing major projects for corporate companies De La Rue, Npower and OpSec Security. She said; “Status is different from anywhere I’ve worked before. There’s so much energy in the team. Owners Nick and Graeme have a very clear vision of where they want to take the business and I am delighted to be playing a key role in delivering that.

“Status is progressive and forward thinking and everyone who works here fits into that culture. It’s exciting to join a growing business at the forefront of such a fast-paced industry. I’m looking forward to working with our partners, delivering bespoke and innovative solutions to support and grow their businesses as well as creating new opportunities for Status across an ever-changing market.”

Business Manager Roxanne Tuck, from Gateshead, has spent a decade helping businesses in the education and hospitality industries improve their digital portfolio, as well as delivering dynamic marketing campaigns with demonstrable results. She is currently studying an MBA part time at Northumbria University.

Roxanne said; “It’s great to work with a digital team that genuinely puts its customers front and centre of their work. We’ve got a whole host of experts from UX designers to front and back end developers, creatives and strategists, who can problem solve at pace. At Status, we look at the whole picture. It’s not just about developing websites or Apps, it’s about working with our partners to understand their customers’ needs and come up with ambitious solutions that meet them.

“I’m looking at the long-term vision for the business, working with Nick and Graeme to develop our plans. We’re living in an intense period of innovation and working for a company that is at the forefront of that change is exciting.”

Kathryn and Roxanne are joined by three new Junior Front-end Developers, graduates Alex Megahy, Daniel Carrick and Kenneth Shek, alongside Junior Web Designer Nooshin Taravati. Kori Hanson, a Newcastle College graduate, joins as a UX/UI Designer, with Russ Phillips coming on board as a Support Developer, after a career spent at Newcastle University and Virgin Money.

Managing Director, Nick Salloway, commented; “We are delighted to have the recruits on board. They bring with them a range of skills and experience to complement the expertise of our existing team. Importantly, they are curious and share our vision to continuously innovate, to think outside the box and find solutions that fit our modern and ever-evolving world.

“We are currently reshaping our own service offering which we will bring to market in the new year, alongside a rebranded Status Digital. I’m looking forward to sharing our plans and helping more businesses with a thirst to innovate, so they can take full advantage of the potential offered by digital technologies.”
