AN educational services provider engaging the region’s youngsters in STEM has the formula for success thanks to the Core team at Gordon Brown Law Firm LLP (GBLF).

Greenshift Educational Services Limited deliver interactive workshops and learning programmes to local schools in the North East, encouraging children to get excited about science, technology, engineering and maths.

Business founder and former teacher, Angela Harrison, 43, from Hebburn, enlisted the help of GBLF’s Core team, who provide bespoke legal services for the region’s SMEs, in drawing up formalities including directors’ agreements and shareholder agreements, as well as general business support.

Operating for six months, since February 2016, Greenshift Educational Services Limited has already worked with over 30 schools across the region, and is preparing for a busy new academic year, with new partnerships and schools on board.

Angela said: “Having come from a career in teaching, running a business seemed like a daunting prospect, but the help and support which the Core team at GBLF has provided me with is priceless, and really helped me to take the business to the next level.

“From workshops for local schools, to after school clubs, as well as tutoring services, adult ICT sessions and science parties – we offer it all. Everything we do is with the aim of inspiring youngsters to show an interest in STEM-based subjects, to help address the skills shortage the industries are currently facing.

“I’m really pleased with the response that the business has had in our first six months and hope that demand continues to rise, which will hopefully see us roll out into other areas of the UK, tap into the pre-school market, recruit, and one day, be able to offer apprenticeships.”

Gwen Jones, head of Core and associate solicitor at GBLF, said: “We were delighted when Greenshift Educational Services Limited instructed us to assist with creating directors’ agreements, shareholder agreements and company terms and conditions for its new and exciting business.

“The opportunities it provides to the children of the North East are fantastic and it was a pleasure to help Angela in getting the business set up right. I wish her the best of luck with her new venture and have no doubt that it will be a great success.”
