Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Still time to sign up for charity golf day

Time is running out for keen golfers wishing to register to take part in an annual charity tournament.

Applications for the Chairman of Durham County Council’s Charity Golf Day must be submitted by Thursday, 14 September.

This year’s event, on Thursday, 21 September at Ramside Hall Golf Club, will be in aid of The Great North Air Ambulance, the chosen charity of current Chairman Cllr Bill Kellett.

Cllr Kellett, said: “The annual charity golf tournament is always a fantastic day and I’m sure this year will be no different.

“I’d like to encourage people to sign up and take part. They’ll have a great time and they’ll be helping to raise money for an extremely worthy cause.”

The tournament is Stableford with a playing handicap of 21 (male) and 36 (female) with tee-off times between 8am and 1.30pm.

Entry costs £200 for a team of four, with prizes being awarded in various categories from ‘longest drive’ to ‘nearest to the pin’.

Companies can support the event by sponsoring a hole without entering a team in the competition.
