Stockton Council’s Roadworks Report: Week Ending 3 May 2015

As a result of Sir Robert McAlpine/Autolink carrying out carriageway resurfacing works, a temporary closure of A19, southbound between A174 Parkway Interchange and A67 Crathorne Interchange, with be in operation from Sunday 12 April to Friday 24 April 2015, overnight between 20:00 – 06:00hrs.

A19 Tees Viaduct

 

As a result of routine maintenance works on the A19 Tees Viaduct, temporary road closures will be required between Monday 27 April and Friday 1 May 2015. The works will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am.

A1032 Tees (Newport) Bridge Approach Road

 

The 18 tonne weight limit will continue to be in operation throughout the remainder of the works. This will prevent use by some heavy goods vehicles but buses will be unaffected.

 

Access for cyclists and pedestrians will be maintained throughout.

A19/A174 Junction Improvement Pinch Point Scheme

 

As a result of the Pinch Point works being carried out by Costain, on behalf of the Highways England, a temporary 30mph speed limit continues to be in effect on A174 Parkway Extension for the duration of the works, which are expected to finish in May 2015. Narrow lanes with temporary barriers are also in effect on the A174 Parkway Extension. A traffic switch to slow lane running is programmed for Wednesday 29 April or Thursday 30 April 2015.

 

A temporary closure of the A174 Parkway Extension (Westbound), between A19 and the new Avro Anson roundabout, is required from Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May 2015 overnight between 20:00 until 06:00hrs. Signed diversions will be in operation via Crathorne Interchange and A67/A1044.

 

The following lane restrictions/closures will also be in operation overnight from 20:00 – 06:00hrs during week commencing Monday 27 April 2015.

Durham Road/Bishopton Lane, Stockton (TS19 0BP)

 

As a result of Northern Gas Networks carrying out gas main replacement works, temporary 3-way traffic signals (A-Plant 07415929406) will be in operation at the junction of Durham Road / Bishopton Lane from Tuesday 14 April until Friday 1 May 2015. Signals to be manned at peak times.

 

A174/A1044 Thornaby Road Congestion Relief Scheme

 

A temporary 30mph speed limit continues to be in effect on A174 Parkway Extension and Thornaby Road in the vicinity of the A174 junction for the duration of the works, which are expected to finish in May 2015.

 

As a result of changes to the traffic signal control at the A1044 Thornaby Road / A174 Parkway Extension junction and due to the ongoing road works, motorists may experience greater delays than usual from Friday 17 April until final surfacing works are carried out in May and new traffic signal detection loops are provided. Drivers are advised to find alternative routes at peak times if at all practicable.

Stockton Duathlon Festival 2015

 

The Stockton Duathlon Festival will take place on Sunday 26 April 2015 and will result in the temporary road closures at the following locations;

 

Council of Europe Boulevard (Princess of Wales Bridge), Stockton – Full length – 7.00am to 6.00pm

 

Maritime Road (Part), Stockton – From its junction with Church Road to its junction with Portrack Lane – 7.00am to 6.00pm

 

Princeton Drive, Stockton – Full length (Access to be maintained to Medical Arrival Practice) – 10.45am to 5.00pm

 

University Boulevard, Stockton – Full length – 10.45am to 5.00pm

 

Harvard Avenue, Stockton – Full length – 10.45am to 5.00pm

 

Riverside (Part), Stockton – From its junction with Council of Europe Boulevard to its junction with Tower Street – 7.00am to 6.00pm

 

Church Road (Part), Stockton – From its junction with Thistle Green to Maritime Road (Gyratory) – 7.00am to 6.00pm

 

Gyratory System, Stockton – Full length – linking Church Road, North Shore Road, Riverside, Maritime Road – 7.00am to 6.00pm

 

Columbia Drive (Part), Stockton 10.45am to 5.00pm

 

Advanced warning signs will be in place prior to the event and pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained at all times. Signed diversion routes will be in place for access to Stockton Town Centre, Castlegate car park and the Teesdale area.

 

The closures and restrictions will be implemented at approx 7:00am and it is anticipated that all be removed by approximately 6.00pm. However the closure of Princeton Drive, University Boulevard, Harvard Avenue and Columbia Drive will take place between approx10:45am and 5:00pm.

 

OTHER WORKS

 

Quarry Farm Roundabout, Ingleby Barwick (near TS17 5GE)

 

Stockton Council and Highways Construction Services are undertaking improvements to Quarry Farm roundabout. The improvements, which will allow two lanes of traffic to travel straight ahead as well as additional pedestrian crossings will increase the roundabout’s capacity before works to dual Ingleby Way and Myton Way commence later this year.

 

Works started on Monday 16 February and are expected to be completed in August 2015. As a result, temporary 24/7 lane restrictions continue to be in operation on The Rings. Temporary inside lane closures will also continue to be in operation on Queen Elizabeth Way and Quarry Farm roundabout, off peak only.

The Causeway, Billingham (TS23 2HF)

 

Stockton Council and Highways Construction Services are undertaking works on The Causeway as part of £60m Tees Valley Bus Network Improvement Scheme. The works, which will include the creation of bus and disabled laybys on the north side, amendments to the existing bus and taxi laybys on the south side, as well as improvements to the pedestrian crossing facilities. As a result, temporary lane restrictions will continue to be in operation on The Causeway from Monday 2 March until early July 2015. 

Letch Lane, Stockton (TS21 1EG)

 

As a result of NPG/Murphy’s carrying out trial hole investigation, temporary traffic signals (TM Lincs 07932926802) are in operation on Letch Lane until Thursday 30 April 2015. Signals manned at peak times.

Durham Road/Bishopton Lane, Stockton (TS19 0BP)

Dovecot Street, Stockton (TS18 1HG)

 

As a result of NWL/Fastflow carrying out main replacement work/road crossing, Temporary traffic signals (Fastflow 07720 611080) may be required on Dovecot Street, outside 108 Fagg Street to no93, from Friday 24 April until Monday 11 May 2015.

South View, Billingham (TS23 1DA)

 

As a result of NWL/Lumsden & Carroll replacing a manhole cover, temporary traffic signals (Lumsdens 07967 685636) will be in operation on South View, at its junction with West Avenue, on Sunday 26 April 2015 for 1 day only.

Blakeston Lane, Stockton (TS19 9JX)

 

As a result of Railtrack carrying out works on the level crossing, temporary traffic signals (Centurion 01924 372957) will be in operation on Blakeston Lane near the level crossing on Sunday 26 April 2015 for 1 day only.

Marsh House Avenue, Billingham (TS23 2HB)

 

As a result of SBC Direct Services carrying out works to install pedestrian crossings, lane closures will be in operation on Marsh House Avenue, between Cowpen Lane and The Causeway, from Wednesday 29 April until Friday 22 May 2015, off peak. 

Oxbridge Lane, Stockton (TS18 4HR)

 

As a result of NWL/Peter Duffy carrying out urgent sewer repair works, temporary traffic signals (Beacon TM 07720 611080) will be in operation outside 154 Oxbridge Lane from Sunday 26 April until Friday 1 May 2015, 24 hour working. Signals to be manned at peak times.
