Stockton Council’s Roadworks Report: Week Ending 5 April 2015

MAJOR ROAD WORKS

A1032 Tees (Newport) Bridge Approach Road

The 18 tonne weight limit will continue to be in operation throughout the remainder of the works. This will prevent use by some heavy goods vehicles but buses will be unaffected.

Access for cyclists and pedestrians will be maintained throughout.

 

A19/A174 Junction Improvement Pinch Point Scheme

As a result of the Pinch Point works being carried out by Costain, on behalf of the Highways Agency, a temporary 30mph speed limit continues to be in effect on A174 Parkway Extension for the duration of the works, which are expected to finish in April 2015. Narrow lanes with temporary barriers are also in effect on the A174 Parkway Extension.

 

A closure of A174 / A19 roundabout (South East Quadrant) in operation onFriday 27 March and Saturday 28 March 2015 overnight from 20:00 – 06:00hrs.

The following lane restrictions/closures will also be in operation overnight from 20:00 – 06:00 hrs during week commencing Monday 30 March 2015:

Please note – a closure of the left turn filter lane from A174 Parkway Extension eastbound to A19 northbound on-slip is required full time betweenTuesday 7 & Friday 10 April inclusive. Traffic will access the filter lane via the roundabout give way line, this is expected to cause congestion at peak times and drivers are advised to seek an alternative route.

 

A174/A1044 Thornaby Road Congestion Relief Scheme

A temporary 30mph speed limit continues to be in effect on A174 Parkway Extension and Thornaby Road in the vicinity of the A174 junction for the duration of the works, which are expected to finish in April 2015.

OTHER WORKS

Quarry Farm Roundabout, Ingleby Barwick

Stockton Council and Highways Construction Services are undertaking improvements to Quarry Farm roundabout. The improvements, which will allow two lanes of traffic to travel straight ahead as well as additional pedestrian crossings will increase the roundabout’s capacity before works to dual Ingleby Way and Myton Way commence later this year.

Works started on Monday 16 February and are expected to be completed in July 2015. As a result, temporary 24/7 lane restrictions continue to be in operation on The Rings. Temporary inside lane closures will also continue to be in operation on Queen Elizabeth Way and Quarry Farm roundabout, off peak only.

 

The Causeway, Billingham

Stockton Council and Highways Construction Services are undertaking works on The Causeway as part of £60m Tees Valley Bus Network Improvement Scheme. The works, which will include the creation of bus and disabled laybys on the north side, amendments to the existing bus and taxi laybys on the south side, as well as improvements to the pedestrian crossing facilities. As a result, temporary lane restrictions will continue to be in operation on The Causeway from Monday 2 March for approximately 12 weeks.

As a result of works associated with the new pedestrian crossing, a temporary road closure will be in operation of the south side of The Causeway, from Moreland Avenue to Rothbury Street, on Sunday 29 March 2015, between 08:00 – 16:00hrs.

 

Leeholme Road, Billingham

As a result of SBC/Lafarge Tarmac carrying out carriageway resurfacing works, temporary traffic signals (Hattons 01388210880) will be in operation on Leeholme Road on Saturday 28 March from 19:00hrs until midnight, and on Sunday 29 March 2015 between 07:00-15:00hrs.

 

Letch Lane, Stockton

As a result of NPG/Murphy’s carrying out trial hole investigation, temporary traffic signals (TM Lincs 07932926802) are in operation on Letch Lane until 2 April 2015, off peak only.

 

Myton Way, Ingleby Barwick

As a result of BT/Eltel carrying out duct diversion works as part of the road widening scheme, temporary traffic signals (Eltel 01642-706238) will be in operation on Myton Way on Saturday 28 March and Sunday 29 March 2015.

 

 

Darlington Lane, Norton

As a result of Northern Powergrid/Murphys carrying out electric cable installation works, temporary 4- way traffic signals (TM Lincs 07932026802) will be in operation on Darlington Lane, at the junction with Swale Road/Leven Road, on Saturday 28 March and Sunday 29 March 2015.

 

Wolviston Road, Billingham

As a result of NWL/Seymours carrying out sewer cleansing works, a lane closure (Roadsafe UK 07921484424) will be in operation outside of 88 Wolviston Road on Sunday 29 March 2015, for 1 day only.
