STOCKTON-ON-TEES Borough Council has won a prestigious Constructing Excellence North East Award which recognises the strong partnership work and use of best practices for its build projects.
The Council has been awarded the ‘Client of the Year’ award for showing consistent improvement and drive to ensure best practices are applied to both its projects and supply chain.
The Constructing Excellent North East Awards celebrate excellence in the region’s construction industry and recognise business, organisations and individuals.
Judges praised Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council for being an ‘innovative collaborator’, maximising value engineering solutions, and for its plans and preparations to ‘enable excellence in construction’.
Sponsored by law firm Ward Hadaway, the Client of the Year award also recognises the Council’s long-standing work with its partners and contractors.
Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: “We strive continuously to deliver a range of high quality projects and further put Stockton on the map as a great place to live, visit and do business.
“Our strong collaborative relationships are vital in helping us to achieve this across Stockton-on-Tees. We are proud and delighted that our efforts have been recognised with such an esteemed award.”
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council will join the other category winners to compete in the national Constructing Excellence Awards later this year.
