Stockton students to brighten elderly residents’ view

Screen Shot 2016-05-20 at 15.02.27STUDENTS from Stockton Riverside College have issued another appeal for support to create a garden mural for elderly residents at a local care home.

The Beeches, on Green Lane in Newtown, has welcomed the support of the college, which has already begun work on the mural.

They are appealing for donations of materials and equipment to continue the work, including:

 Paint brushes, rollers and trays

 Coloured acrylic paints

Liz Jones, Customer Relations Officer at Hill Care, which manages The Beeches Care Home, said: “We would be hugely grateful to any local residents and businesses who would be willing to donate the items the school pupils need to continue their mural project.

“The mural will brighten up a large wall that our residents look onto from the lounge and dining areas. The project will benefit both residents and our pupils and we hope the local business community will lend their support.”

Anyone interested in donating equipment and materials for the project should contact Liz Jones on 07989 527046 or email liz.jones@hillcare.net.
