Learners of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) have attended classes at Bridge Road, in Stockton, and at Children’s Centres across the Borough.

At a recent event, they were presented with certificates from Ascentis and City & Guilds for their achievements in English, Maths and ICT.

Councillor Jim Beall, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Health, said: “There is some excellent work being carried out within the Council’s Learning and Skills service for adults and families, from ESOL to community learning, as well as apprenticeship training.

“We are also proud of our Family Learning groups held in schools across the Borough where many families from diverse backgrounds are learning a range of skills.

“The classes really do offer something for everyone and are great for people from all communities to enjoy their shared interests together.”
