Sue retrains to become hairdresser at Saks Sedbury Stables

Screen Shot 2016-03-01 at 09.18.00A long-standing member of the Saks group, who previously owned a North East Saks beauty franchise, has retrained as a hairdresser to work on the salon floor at Saks at Sedbury Stables, near Scotch Corner.

Sue Dickinson was one of the first people to open a Saks Beauty Franchise in 1996 at Scotch Corner. After a successful 14 years Sue took a career break to become a full time mum to her children Oliver, 8, and Grace, 7.

Three years ago Sue started working as a receptionist and marketing manager at Saks Hair at Sedbury Stables and, as someone always keen to help out, she was soon assisting at the backwash shampooing clients’ hair, rinsing out colour and offering head massages.

Sue quickly decided that, with her extensive experience in the industry, she should re-train as a hairdresser and is now building up a busy column of her own happy clients.

Sue says: “I’ve always loved the buzz of working in a busy salon environment and have enjoyed being part of the Saks brand for many years. After returning to the industry following some time out to be with my children, I was quickly drawn back in and re-training as a hairdresser to broaden my skills seemed like the obvious thing to do!”

Anna Clinton, owner of Saks Sedbury, says: “I’ve known Sue for many years and we’ve worked closely together. I’m thrilled that she’s adding yet another string to her bow and our clients love her!”
