Sweet start to autumn foodie feasts at Gisborough Hall

A special lunchtime sweet treat will kick off a series of autumn events for foodies at Gisborough Hall this month.

Head chef Jason Moore’s ‘Pudding Club’ will give people a chance to enjoy a specially-created two-course lunch followed by an assiette of Jason’s new autumn desserts, all made using seasonal and local ingredients. Guests will be invited to ‘score’ each dessert with the overall winner announced at the end of the meal.

The two-course lunch will include some of Jason’s favourite dishes such as farmhouse terrine with toasted brioche, the Gisborough burger and classic prawn cocktail.

The Pudding Club kicks off Gisborough Hall’s special autumn season of events which also includes autumn afternoon teas, running Sundays in October, and Thursday evening homemade pie nights, which offer a different homemade pie each week with seasonal trimmings.

Gisborough Hall and Jason Moore are highly regarded for their two AA Rosette restaurant, Chaloner’s, and the more informal G Bar and Bistro. Jason Moore, from Guisborough, returned to Gisborough Hall as head chef last year, having travelled around the UK and Europe working at a variety of locations including launching Yorkshire-based Provenance Inns’ gastro-pubs.

Jason, who has cooked for many VIPs including members of the Royal Family, MPs and footballers, originally joined Gisborough Hall in 2008 and is well known for his appearances at shows and exhibitions including the Harrogate Flower Show, York Festival of Food and Drink, the Great Yorkshire Show and the Scarborough Food Fair.

Jason said: “Me and the kitchen team are constantly striving to come up with new ideas to offer customers old and new a taste of what we do, whether that’s tapas nights, demonstrations with tips and advice or our new Pudding Club event. Our desserts are always popular dishes but those with a sweet tooth often say they’d love to try more than one- so this offers that opportunity.”

The event costs £12.50 per person. Bookings can be made at events.gisboroughall@macdonald-hotels.co.uk or 01287 611510.
