Sweetdreams Hires New Sales Director To Build Company Growth

BRITISH chocolatier, Sweetdreams Ltd, has recruited a new sales director to build on the rapid growth the company has experienced over the past two years.

Nick Rollitt, 45, will be joining the organisation with over 10 years’ experience in the confectionery and impulse snack industry, servicing retail, wholesale and food ingredients manufacturers across the UK.

Matthew Stephenson, owner and managing director of Sweetdreams said: “With Nick joining the team we have built an aggressive, proactive strategy for the next three years. When we achieve this, Sweetdreams Ltd will have quadrupled in size by turnover, but will have controlled and maintained the important profit margins.

“This year, we’ve moved factories and invested heavily in equipment as well as NPD and I felt there was one final piece missing from the strong management team – and that was a focus on sales, as well as customer service. We have the infrastructure to fulfil our ambitious plans but need the top line sales to support them. With this in mind I started to look for the right person to deliver the new business, but more importantly would fit in straight away to the team.

“I’ve been aware of Nick through the industry since the end of last year, and he has always struck me as an ambitious, professional and energetic character, who I noticed was highly thought of by mutual acquaintances. After looking at what candidates were available for the role of sales director, it became obvious Nick was the right man for the job.”

Nick said: “My experience in the industry has given me unique and extensive knowledge of customers and the impulse confectionery market, which will allow Sweetdreams to form stronger relationships with our existing and new customers; taking the Choc Nibbles brand to new heights.

“The recent large-scale investment into panning and coating gives Sweetdreams a huge opportunity to break into different markets, including specialist markets like vegan confectionery, which is an incredibly exciting thing to be getting involved.”

When he’s away from the office Nick’s time is devoted to adventures with his one year old and he enjoys getting out in the fresh air on his mountain bike and enjoying the culinary delights of that the North has to offer.

Sweetdreams Ltd has seen substantial company growth over the last 12 months and had already beaten their most successful year to date within just six months of trading in the current this financial year. This has been achieved in part from extended discount sector penetration, new product development, international export, including the company’s first export to Ireland and proactive development of their extensive existing customer base.
