THE iconic Tees Transporter Bridge is set to close on Thursday, April 16, while scaffolding used for improvement works is removed.
The bridge will be open through morning rush hour but will close at 9.15am to allow the work to go ahead and it is hoped that the work will be completed on the same day.
Following a lengthy closure of as part of the £2.6m Heritage Lottery Fund-supported Tees Transporter Bridge Visitor Experience Project the gondola was re-opened to the public last month.
