On 28th July the Heart of Teesdale is holding a free event to find out more about two heritage features in the area.
Meeting at 10.30am we will visit a lime kiln in Abbey Woods, in the early stages of being consolidated. The contractor from Northumbria Conservation Masonry, the project manager from Countryside Consultants and volunteer Peter Singer will give presentations at the site explaining its history and the techniques for consolidation.
After lunch we will move on to Headlam village and the restoration of the packhorse bridge on the green, currently on the Heritage at Risk Register. Again the restoration works and techniques will be explained. The event will finish around 2.30.
To book please contact Alex Sijpesteijn on 03000 268042 or email@example.com. The event is free but booking is essential.
