Teesside legal firm celebrates women in business with special event

Endeavour Partnership will be celebrating the achievements of women in business from across Teesside this International Women’s Day, Wednesday March 8th.

The Stockton-based legal firm is hosting a special event at Crathorne Hall, near Yarm, to celebrate and empower women.

Endeavour will be joined by Professor Jane Turner, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise and Business Engagement) from Teesside University, and Caroline Theobald CBE, bringing her experience of chairing the UK wide BQ live debates. She will be interviewing a panel of high profile local business women discussing their career progression and women equalities and will also provide help and advice to any ladies currently in business or thinking about setting up a new business.

Endeavour’s International Women’s Day celebrations, which quickly sold out, will also include networking opportunities, a variety of stalls, entertainment, international-themed food and a raffle raising money for Middlesbrough charity, My Sister’s Place.

My Sister’s Place is a specialist domestic violence charity established in 2002 helping women and children to live safely and free from abuse.  The charity works in partnership with various organisations to tackle domestic violence. Now celebrating their 15th Year, My Sister’s Place supports over 1000 women each year through advocacy, support, therapeutic services, women’s groups and training.

Michelle O’Rourke, service development manager at My Sister’s Place, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as Endeavour’s charity for their International Women’s Day event as this is a key date in our charity’s calendar. As we celebrate our 15th year, we are pleased to be celebrating with Endeavour and their guests.

“The money raised will contribute to providing much needed support for women and children experiencing domestic abuse. We would like to thank Endeavour for their support and look forward to working with them.”

Laura Kirkpatrick, an employment solicitor from Endeavour Partnership came up with the idea of Endeavour hosting their first International Women’s Day event. Laura said: “This is the first time we have hosted an event like this, celebrating and empowering women in business across Teesside. We are excited that Jane Turner is attending as our guest speaker along with other very influential business women sitting on our panel. It will be an interesting afternoon of networking, entertainment and lovely food too.

“Our overall aim is to bring together women to share stories, empower each other and celebrate the diversity that Teesside has to offer.”
