Teesside is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October with a weekend of free celebrations for the local community.

Between 11am and 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, Teesside will be hosting its very own birthday party with live entertainment, music, food stalls, prize giveaways and more.

The weekend-long party, which will take place outside the Mothercare store, will include a range of entertainment throughout the day on Saturday, featuring live acts from roller skating bumble bees to stilt walking balloon artists.

Local street food vendors Smokelahoma Pit, Sundaes of Yarm, Pie Jackers, Crumble and Slice, Earth and Fire and Pork Store will be on hand over the weekend to serve up a range of tasty treats from smoke burgers and gourmet pies to chocolate goodies and freshly-baked pizzas.

To mark the silver anniversary, Teesside is also hosting a silver ticket treasure hunt on the Saturday, giving shoppers the chance to win one of 25 prizes.

Every hour between 12pm and 5pm, five silver tickets will be up for grabs. To help shoppers find the tickets, and be in with a chance of winning, a clue will be shared on Teesside’s Facebook Page at 25 past the hour. The first shoppers to hunt down the tickets and share the pictures on Facebook will win one of a selection of prizes which include gift cards and exclusive hampers.

Mike Clarke, Centre Manager for Teesside, said: “Spending 25 years working in and with this great community is something which we’re extremely proud of, and we’d love for as many people as possible to come down and join us to mark the anniversary.

“There’s a lot of people working here at Teesside who’ve been with us for many years – some since the opening in 1991. The anniversary weekend is about celebrating with them, our shoppers and our retailers, to say thank you for their continued support.”

Ken Dixon, Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, will be joining the celebrations, along with representatives from owner British Land, Zoe’s Place and the MFC Foundation, which Teesside has long-standing relationships with.

Jane West, Operations Manager, who has worked at Teesside since it opened in 1991 said: “Teesside holds a special place in my heart. It’s been through some big changes over the last 25 years and I look forward to seeing what’s to come over the next 25!”

Founded in 1991, Teesside offers a wide range of dining, leisure and retail experiences, with stores including Next, Marks & Spencer, Boots and much more.
