Stockton law firm, Endeavour Partnership, has rewarded the commitment of its two current trainees by offering them full-time employment.
Jessica Maine and Sean Jackson joined the commercial law firm in September 2015 for a 24-month training contract. However, senior partners at Endeavour Partnership have been so impressed by their skills that both have now been offered full-time roles within the business.
Jessica, from Stockton, has studied law at the University of Leeds and now joins the employment team at Endeavour Partnership as a solicitor. Jessica will be specialising in contentious and non-contentious employment law, helping clients with a full spectrum of employment issues such as drafting start-up documentation and also advising on staff procedures and employee management.
Sean will join Endeavour’s corporate and commercial team as a solicitor looking after a range of issues such as business sales and acquisitions, disposal, management buy-outs and advising on commercial contracts. Sean, from Middlesbrough, studied for a degree in law at Northumbria University.
Endeavour has an annual training contract available to local graduates keen to develop their career with commercial legal experts, working across all elements of the business with specialist teams incorporate and commercial, commercial property, employment and litigation and insolvency.
The training programme provides the opportunity to gain hands-on legal experience working across a variety of clients from SMEs to global organisations and on both routine and highly complex matters, alongside solicitors with outstanding reputations.
Three more trainees will join Endeavour in September.
Managing partner, Paul Bury, said: “Encouraging and developing the next generation of commercial legal experts is integral to everything we do at Endeavour. We have a real commitment to seeking the very best from our local universities, with whom we have always worked very closely.
“Staff retention is critical as getting the best results for our clients is at the heart of all our accomplishments. This wouldn’t be possible without the investment we put into advancing our team’s development and skills as well as nurturing trainees like Jessica and Sean. Both graduates have shown real enthusiasm and skill for the legal profession and they’re proving a real asset to our growing team.”
Jessica said: “I was thrilled to be offered a role in the employment department at Endeavour Partnership following completion of my training contract. As it is such an exciting firm to be a part of, it is a fantastic opportunity to be able to begin and continue my career here as a solicitor. Not only is it the people who make the firm a great place to be, but it is also the interesting and complex work that its reputation attracts, meaning every day is different to the last.”
Sean said: “It was a great boost to be offered a training contract with Endeavour, but being retained by the firm in the corporate and commercial department has surpassed that. Working with such talented lawyers has been an excellent and rewarding learning experience, and I am excited to continue my career in law at Endeavour.”
Endeavour now employs a team of 54 and has a reputation spanning over 16 years, providing high quality advice on a range of business law matters including mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, employment, commercial property and corporate recovery and insolvency from its headquarters at Teesdale in Stockton.
