203A County Durham recycling centre will close temporarily for essential resurfacing works in August.

Middleton-in- Teesdale Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) will close for approximately five days from Monday 8 August to Friday 12 August for essential resurfacing works. The site is expected to return to normal opening hours, between 9am and 6pm on Saturday 13 August.

During the temporary closure, residents can use other HWRC’s including:

 Stainton Grove, Barnard Castle, DL12 8UE, 9am-6pm (weekends only)

 Romanway, Tindale Crescent, Bishop Auckland, DL14 9AW, 9am-6pm (Mon-Sun)

Residents taking items in a van, trailer, pick-up or minibus are reminded to apply for a free permit before visiting any HWRC. Permits issued for Middleton site during the closure can be used at other HWRCs. To apply or for more information on HWRCs visit www.durham.gov.uk/hwrc or call 03000 261 000.

Only household waste is permitted at recycling centres, commercial waste is not permitted. Businesses can arrange a commercial waste contract at www.durham.gov.uk/commercialwaste or call 03000 262 660.
